Our team is excited to announce that Edison Mail is officially available for all on the Mac App Store! The Apple team has also featured Edison Mail on their list of “Apps and Games We Love Right Now.”
So many of us at home right now spend all day, every day, in our desktop mailbox within our browsers. With so much time spent staring at the same mailbox day in and day out, the small issues begin to add up. Maybe you’re tired of having to log in and out of your accounts in order to see messages from multiple accounts. Maybe you’ve noticed that the UX is clunky and busy to the point that it’s stressful to look at. Or maybe you’ve noticed that email messages take longer to clear on desktop than they do on your mobile device.
These were all issues that our designers who live on their Macs faced. From these frustrations came a desire to make email on the Mac simpler, cleaner, and better. And so they took on the challenge and Edison Mail for Mac was born.

We’ve been working night and day to ensure that the Edison Mac app experience is incredible for all our consumers. Available for Yahoo, Gmail, Outlook accounts, and more, Edison offers a universal inbox that keeps all emails from multiple accounts in a single place. This means no more jumping from inbox to inbox in order to see messages in your different accounts.The Mac app was designed to be fast — you don’t have time to tap your toes waiting for a message to send because it’s already happened. With stunningly simple UI, consumers won’t suffer from the chaos of too clunky and busy UI. Swipe gestures and customizable keyboard shortcuts help you whiz through all your messages in no time flat. Email Threading (even for non-Gmail accounts) will keep you on task even within long email chains. Block Sender keeps your inbox clear of messages from individuals you’re tired of hearing from — for good. Dark Mode lessens the strain your eyes can feel after hours of email use. Block read receipts ensures that no marketer or company will be able to take a peek into your mailbox to see if you’ve opened their messages.
Since our exclusive invitations began rolling out in December of last year, we’ve been ensuring many feature requests are met. The Edison Mail for Mac was always designed to be clean, minimalist, and intuitive, but with all the input from our early adopters, we’ve been able to perfect these qualities.
With our release onto the Mac App Store also comes with new features we think you’ll appreciate. Focused Inbox allows users to only check the email that matters to them, rather than being drowned in a mass of email messages. This can be enabled to disabled in the Settings Menu. Another feature we’re launching is our Today Folder. Available on the left-hand sidebar of your email window, this folder will just collect all the messages that have come in that day for you to check. Lastly, we’re offering mute notifications. With this feature, you’re able to quiet the noise by selecting certain email addresses you’re tired of receiving alerts from, and simply muting their email notifications.
Our trademark assistant menu options to manage your travel, bills, and receipts, and entertainment are also included.
